On Finding Other Christian Feminists

Source: frenchbydesign.blogspot.com via Danielle on Pinterest

Over a year ago, I expressed my exasperation at not being able to find many Christian feminists. As my then fiancĂ© and I neared marriage, my search became more desperate as we struggled through questions about our faith and feminism. Those months of prayer and seeking and pleading to find some feminist friends were worth it because I have found a loosely-connected, internet-based, but decidedly feminist and Christian subset of what the Mamafesto calls the “femisphere.”

These women are talented writers and artists who inspire and challenge me throughout the week with their posts, questions, and activism. I’ve been following some in Google reader for a while now, but the longer list is now included in my “Blogroll” tab above to share with all. Check it out, comment with any of your favorites I’ve missed, and let me know if there is a better way to organize these outstanding sisters in Christ.

Next step: finding some Christian feminist men (other than my husband).
And because recent events have proven that qualifiers are needed: finding some Christian feminist men who do not have problematic histories of abuse for which they have yet to fully disclose in feminist and/or progressive Christian circles.
